The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors meets at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at 12000 Government Center Parkway in Fairfax. View the agenda online

The deadline for licensing your dog in Fairfax County is on Jan. 31. All dogs in the county over four months old must be license. Find out how to register.

Children can learn techniques to help them prevent bullying at a “Bully Defense” course at 7 p.m. Monday at the Pohick Regional Library on 6450 Sydenstricker Road. The class is for students ages 6-12. Find out how to register online.

Anyone interest in learning about the Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society is welcome to attend an informational session at 7 p.m. Wednesay at the nZone on 14550 Lee Road in Chantilly.

This Thursday is the Independent Living Projects latest workshop. The workshops cover various issues concerning older adults including fall prevention, recognizing the signs of dementia, nutrition, and more. The workshop is from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Kingstowne Center for Active Adults at 6488 Landsdowne Center in Alexandria. Find out more information.

Bully defense class should be included in the school curriculum. It will prevent much suffering and reduce school tragedies. This training is as important as Race relations and Woman's rights training that the government sponsored in the 1970s.
