Pottery Painting, Creek Critter Class and Teens Tackle 'Fahrenheit 451'

1. Pottery Painting — "Re∙reads will host pottery painting sessions led by Nadiyah on Mondays. Drop-in pottery painting (Nadiyah-less) will be available during the week.  Come relax and express your creative side!" More info. 11 a.m. Monday at 8742 Cooper Rd.

2. Wine and Cheese with Ed Deitsch — The Democrat is a candidate for Virginia's House of Delegates 42nd District. "Ed invites you to come and voice your concerns and opinions about the future of the 42nd District." More info. 7 p.m. Wednesday at 9233 Forest Haven Dr.

3. This Week's Weather — Our best chance for rain is Tuesday, with a chance of scattered thunderstorms. Come Wednesday, temperatures will cool significantly with the highs staying in the upper-70s for the rest of the week. See more at The Weather Channel.

4. Nighttime Creek Critters — The Hidden Pond Nature Center will be hosting a nighttime stream study. "Search for creek critters such as the madtom catfish or the elusive eel. This is a program for the whole family with outdoor adventure and nature study concluding with a campfire. S’mores will be provided. The cost is $8 per person. 5. Teen Book Discussion — Entitled "Rising Words, Rising Images," this program at Sherwood Regional Library includes a discussion of Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. For ages 12-18. 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane.
