The following items are from the recent daily activity report from the Mount Vernon Police District of the Fairfax County Police Department. Larceny/Assault (red on map), 5:10 p.m., May 4, 2900 block of Arlington Drive, The 31-year-old victim reported she saw a man reach into her vehicle and take her purse. Her husband chased the suspect and was allegedly struck. The victims were not injured. Theodore Smalley, 60, of no fixed address, was charged with grand larceny and assault. Mount Vernon District Station Larceny/Assault A 60-year-old man was charged with grand larceny and assault after Fairfax County police said he was caught trying to steal a woman’s purse. The incident took place at 5:10 p.m. on Saturday on the 2900 block of Arlington Drive in the Hybla Valley area. Police said a woman reported seeing a man reach into her car and take her purse. Her husband chased the robber and was struck, according to police. Theodore Smalley, who has no fixed address, was charged with grand larceny and assault. Mount Vernon District Station Burglary An audible alarm called police to a Mount Vernon home. The alarm went off at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday on the 3600 block of Becherer Road, police said. Officers responded and found the rear door forced open. A resident confirmed nothing was stolen. Burglary A resident reported someone had forced their way into a home through a front door, but nothing was stolen, according to police. Crimes reported to the Mount Vernon District Station in Fairfax County.
Burglary A 25-year-old woman was charged with entering a dwelling at night, two counts of vehicle trespass, and being drunk in public. Christina Tucker, of Woodbridge, was charged in the incident. According to police, a homeowner called police saying someone entered their home at 3:35 a.m. Tuesday on the 3300 block of Memorial Street near the Groveton area. Police arrived and though nothing had been stolen from inside the home, they found a woman sitting in the yard, according to police. Larcenies:

Burglary An employee reported someone entered a business at 2:45 p.m. on Monday on the 6700 block of Richmond Highway and stole cash, according to police. The Fairfax County Police Department reports that someone forced their way in through a window. Larcenies:

Fairfax County Police reported this week that they have arrested a Mount Vernon-area resident, Clayton Vozniak, 56, as a suspect in an indecent exposure case. Police say that a woman reported to police that Vozniak, 56, exposed himself to her and her 6-year-old daughter at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday on the 4000 block of Buckman Street in the Mount Vernon area. Police arrested Vozniak for the alleged activity, charging him with indecent exposure and simulated masturbation. Virginia law states: "Every person who intentionally makes an obscene display or exposure of his person, or the private parts thereof, in any public place, or in any place where others are present, or procures another to so expose himself, shall be guilty of a Class 1 …

The following incidents were reported in the Mount Vernon District Police Station. Police arrested three for drunken driving on Friday as officers from the Mount Vernon Police District patrolled the area for intoxicated drivers. Three were charged with driving while intoxicated, twenty five summonses, and 29 warnings were issued, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. Robbery A 32-year-old reported that he was walking and counting his money when an unknown man snatched the cash and fled, according to police. The incident took place at 7:25 p.m. on Saturday on the 3100 block of Lockheed Boulevard in the Hybla Valley area.
