Mount Vernon Library Construction May Cause Traffic Snarl
Traffic may be stopped occasionally on Mount Vernon Memorial Highway starting Monday.
There will be construction-related traffic stoppages along northbound Mount Vernon Memorial Highway starting Monday morning. Construction crews will be boring an underground sewer pipe along the south side of the road from the emergency vehicle exit from the Mount Vernon Library to a sewer manhole cover across from Cunningham Drive. Although the boring itself will not directly affect traffic, there will be three areas along the route where equipment will need to enter the woods, dig a boring pit and clean out, which necessitates the traffic stoppages, according to the Mount Vernon Estate.
