Crime Report: Cigarettes Stolen

The latest incident reports from the Mount Vernon District Station.

Robbery/Larceny Cigarettes were reported stolen from a business at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday on the 6800 block of Richmond Highway. According to the Fairfax County Police Department, two men entered the business. One of the men reached over a counter and took cigarettes, the second pushed a clerk and stole cigarettes. Crime Report: Man, 25, Arrested in Mount Vernon After Chase

The latest incident reports from the Fairfax County Police Department.

Pursuit/Arrest A 25-year-old wanted man tried to run away from authorities when confronted by officers, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.   The incident was reported at 10 a.m. on May 10 on the 4400 block of Blyth Place in Mount Vernon. Police said that they had tried to apprehend Donnie White, of Alexandria, but White ran away from police.   White was caught and was served with outstanding warrants. He was also charged with driving on a suspended license, speeding to elude police, and driving while under the influence.   Larcenies:

Crime Report: Husband Helps Wife Retrieve Stolen Purse

The following incidents were reported to the Mount Vernon District Station.

Mount Vernon District Station Larceny/Assault A 60-year-old man was charged with grand larceny and assault after Fairfax County police said he was caught trying to steal a woman’s purse. The incident took place at 5:10 p.m. on Saturday on the 2900 block of Arlington Drive in the Hybla Valley area. Police said a woman reported seeing a man reach into her car and take her purse. Her husband chased the robber and was struck, according to police. Theodore Smalley, who has no fixed address, was charged with grand larceny and assault. Crime Report: Break-ins Reported in Mount Vernon

The following incidents were reported to the Mount Vernon District Station.

Mount Vernon District Station Burglary An audible alarm called police to a Mount Vernon home. The alarm went off at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday on the 3600 block of Becherer Road, police said. Officers responded and found the rear door forced open. A resident confirmed nothing was stolen. Burglary A resident reported someone had forced their way into a home through a front door, but nothing was stolen, according to police. The break-in was reported at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday on the 3800 block of El Camino Place in the Mount Vernon area. Larcenies:

Police: Intoxicated Woman Found in Backyard of Home

Crimes reported to the Mount Vernon District Station in Fairfax County.

Burglary A 25-year-old woman was charged with entering a dwelling at night, two counts of vehicle trespass, and being drunk in public. Christina Tucker, of Woodbridge, was charged in the incident. According to police, a homeowner called police saying someone entered their home at 3:35 a.m. Tuesday on the 3300 block of Memorial Street near the Groveton area. Police arrived and though nothing had been stolen from inside the home, they found a woman sitting in the yard, according to police. Larcenies:

On the above map, the addresses are block numbers, not specific home or business addresses. The following items are from recent police updates through Sept. 28 from the Mount Vernon Police District of the Fairfax County Police Department. Assault (marked in red on above map), 4500 block of Colony Court, 9/23/12, 3:35 a.m. The victim was drinking with a couple of acquaintances when a disagreement turned into a physical confrontation. David Rodriguez Barrer, 31, of Alexandria and Alexander Cerna Cabrera, 40, of Alexandria, were each charged with assault. Police: Burglar Steals Ice Cream

Fairfax County police are investigating a burglary June 30 in the 8400 block of Old Mount Vernon Road. According to police, a manager reported someone entered and stole ice cream. Entry was made through a rear door. In separate and unrelated incidents:

Teens Charged with Robbery

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fairfax County police department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Police made two arrests last week in connection with a robbery on June 24 at Pole Road at Sacramento Drive. According to Fairfax County police, more than one victim reported that several individuals approached them, allegedly brandishing a handgun. The victims were able to run away without injury. Two teens, ages 16 and 17, were arrested and charged with robbery. In separate and unrelated incidents:

Man Throws Beer at Bus Driver

An intoxicated man threw beer on a bus driver April 25, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. The incident occurred at about 11:20 p.m. on a Fairfax Connector bus as the intoxicated passenger was exiting the bus. The bus was stopped at the intersection of Lockheed Boulevard and Route 1 at the time. Police could not find the intoxicated man. In separate and unrelated incidents.
