County Now Accepting Food Donations for Third Annual 'Stuff the Bus'
All donations, which will be collected at various locations, benefit non-profits and local food pantries.
Fairfax County has partnered with the MV Transportation company and local area grocery stores and non-profits to provide food donations for its "Stuff the Bus: Feeding Fairfax Families" campaign. The campaign, which is in its third year, according to a news release from the county, officially kicked off Monday and will run through Presidents' Day, Feb. 18. "Stuff the Bus is an important component in restocking pantries after the holidays," noted Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova in the release. "The need for healthy food is ever growing and the interest for Fairfax County residents to help is there, so we are happily providing the bridge to bring them together." This is slightly off topic but something I've been curious about. I lived in the area for at least 2 years passing by the Mormon church by Cedar Knoll not realizing it was a church. Why isn't there a sign on the lawn identifying it as such? Most churches post times of worship/events etc. Is there a parkway regulation that prohibits it?   more ›
