Get into the holiday spirit this weekend with Christmas carols and a candlelight tour of the Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens. Tickets for the popular Mount Vernon by Candlelight event are still available for Saturday and Sunday night. Visitors can meet a cast of characters from Washington’s life and take an exclusive candlelight tour of the mansion. Following the tour, guests can explore the grounds, lit by candlelight, join in fireside caroling, and enjoy complimentary hot cider and cookies. Tickets are $22 for adults and $15 for children under 12 and can be purchased at MountVernon.org.

Tickets are now on sale for Historic Mount Vernon's popular program Mount Vernon by Candlelight, now being held for an additional weekend this year. The event includes a holiday-themed tour of the Mansion given by characters from the Washingtons' world. In the kitchen, the final stop on the tour, guests will hear about 18th-century holiday cooking, see Martha Washington’s Great Cake, and be given a complimentary copy of the recipe to try at home. Following the tour, guests can walk along candlelit paths, join in fireside caroling, and enjoy complimentary hot cider and cookies.
