Mount Vernon Ladies' Association Earns Grant for Library
Award from Coca-Cola Foundation will fund programs at the Fred. W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington.
The Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association was recently awarded a grant from the Coca-Cola Foundation for the Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington. This grant is part of more than $2 million the Foundation awarded organizations in the U.S. and Canada, with more than $1 million supporting community health and fitness programs. The Rails-to-Trails Conservancy is another D.C. area organization that also received a grant. According to a press release issued by the Coca-Cola Foundation, the funds will provide scholarships for educators and leadership participants attending the library; help purchase duplicate editions of Washington’s original books for the library; and help the National Library Educational Program host …
