Someone in Arlington won with Powerball, and Mount Vernon saw a $1 million Mega Millions winner.
While no one in the city of Alexandria lucked out with a winning Powerball ticket this go-around, a $1 million ticket was sold in Arlington. The day before, a $1 million Mega Millions ticket was sold at Safeway, 7451 Mount Vernon Square, in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County, said Virginia Lottery spokesman John Hagerty. “No one really noticed because everyone was focused on Powerball,” Hagerty said.
