<b>April is the Communications, Press &amp; Publicity Chairman of the Fairfax County Branch of The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). She was unanimously elected to this position on the Executive Committee in July 2011. April is also the Co-Chairman of the “Freedom Fund Banquet Committee”. Additionally, she is a member of the Fairfax County “Fair Housing Committee” and the Faith Communities in Action “Housing Task Force”.</b>

<b>Mrs. Martin graduated from The University of Phoenix in 2009 with two Bachelor degrees, one in Business Management and the other in Marketing. Recently, she earned her Master of the Arts Degree in Public Administration and in her endeavors; she plans to earn her Doctorate of Philosophy in Organizational and Industrial Psychology Degree as well. In 2011, April used her knowledge, resources, and experience to start a non-profit organization that caters to connecting people with a variety of barriers to employment opportunities.</b>

<b>Not only does Mrs. Martin give 100 percent to her academic and professional career, she is also a wife and mother of two children. Balancing family and work life with her passion for helping others has been a challenge that April was more than happy to take on! All of her accomplishments past, present and future can be attributed to her ultimate desire to be a good role model for her children and younger sisters.  </b>
