ReplyDusty, great detective work. However, I'd be more worried about some creepy redneck hanging around a 7-11 watching peoples alcohol consumption habits than those buying alcohol. Maybe you ought to take up creeping outside windows.

ReplySwiss Bakery in Ravensworth and Amphora Bakery. Occasionally cakes is an excellent shop, but not near the quality of these two.

ReplyYes, I am a longtime Woodlawn/Mt Vernon resident and suffer through the daily grind of Route 1 week after week, year after year. I don;t get cellphone reception because god forbid we put one in our neighborhood because of unfounded fears. I also wasn't aware that WS was a "minority" owned business, but please explain even though I think the argument is a bunch of horse....

ReplyThis whole everyone's a winner nonsense is the reason this country is in such pitiful shape. Tell your kids the truth. Most likely they aren't going to play professional soccer or be in a rock band or perform brain surgery. In all likelihood they'll have a college education and a low to mid level job, period. Teach them that second place only means they are the first loser and get used to it because you're going to lose a whole lot more than you win and trust me noone will give you a trophy or pat on the head when you do. So parents, face it, little Johnny or Jane is certainly precious, but will most probably be a nobody on this planet.

ReplyWhat you want is the NHT to cowtow to your wants. Newsflash: There is absolutely nothing historical about Woodlawn Stables. All of Hybla Valley could be considered historical by the very fact it rests on GW Estate. Bulldoze the stables and lets solve the Route 1 corridor traffic issue for the long term instead of wasting time and money with a band-aid.

ReplySally, get back on the medication and get lucid before you begin your ramblings and ethnic stereotypes. I never mention ethnicity or race. If YOU could read and comprehend I simply said bicyclists and pedestrians do not have the god given right to pick and choose which traffic laws they can and cannot obey and if they are not obeying the law and get run over then too bad, so sad. I was involved in an accident last week because someone "thought" it would be okay to make a left turn from the right lane without a signal or slowing down. So I suppose that was my fault? So you can take your DMV booklet and use it for toilet paper because it isn't based in reality.

ReplyBicyclists disobeying the law and pedestrian jaywalkers being hit by a car will not get me tossed in jail, it will get them put in the hospital. When bicyclists are FORCED to follow the same laws of the road that I do then I'll give them some consideration. Can't tell you how many bicyclists I see on a daily basis running red lights, swerving in and out of traffic, etc. The one's I love are the one's on the Parkway who ignore the "NO BICYCLE" SIGNs.
And, I forgot one which is my absolute favorite around here:
9. There is a left lane and a right lane. Please make your RIGHT turn from the RIGHT lane and your LEFT turn from the LEFT lane. You also don't have to creep into the opposite lane to make the turn.

Darn, I forgot.....the communities of the MVCCA are the ONLY communities in the area in need of pick-up. Shut your mouths and wait your turn like everyone else.
