That portion of Telegraph is being improved by widening the road a little bit. The improvements also include reconstructing the entrance to Huntley Meadows Park. Here's a story that was previously written about this project. http://patch.com/A-2S7y

At the time Patch was there, the residents we spoke with were unaware of what happened. They were simply going for an evening walk when they noticed police activity.

Hi Charles,
Patch asked the same question while on the scene, but FCPD didn't have any further information at that time. That was around 7 p.m., and FCPD is continuing its investigation. PFC Gotthardt said no weapons were retrieved at that time and he also didn't specify information about the encounter between the police and the suspect. Gotthardt said he plans to update the media as soon as he has more information for the public.

Hi Jan,
A link is provided in the story for the planned development for the shopping center. As for nighttime lighting, Wegmans recently proffered to build recreational space and information on lighting has not been provided at this time. Also, because recreational space is new in the development of this center, it's not included on the map in the story.
Patch will keep up with the progress of the shopping center and update it as information — and development maps — are provided.

Another option besides Chili's and Chipotle is actually a good idea. This may not be the location for it, but still something that needs to be considered for the Kingstowne area.

When I spoke with VDOT, they said the features included on the site (the bullets I have in the story) are what will be reconstructed including the utilities relocation. That portion/whole strip on Telegraph Road will be reconstructed differently to make improvements for drivers.

Thanks for mentioning that. The Wegmans will be a little more than 143,000 sq. ft. according to Weingarten Realty. It is now correct in the above story.
