ReplyMy previous lawn service graduated and left for college - good for him, but bad for the neighborhood residents he served. He was GREAT! His charge was $40 for mowing, edging, and blowing.
I pay $50 now; the top end of what I was willing to pay. My new service is also mowing, edging, and blowing. I am considering another service, so I'm looking forward to hearing recommendations.

Look at the bright side. Lanier and her staff and every agency available will be so busy watching out for what *might* happen that they'll leave the rest of the city alone. It might be fun to start a pool to see how many (illegal, by the way) shootings happen in DC that day.
I dislike the fact that so many guns will be confiscated. Wonder how many of *them* will end up on DC streets or in Mexico.

I'm more than a little tired of these "solely designed to kill" arguments. They're patently false.
The firearm is solely designed to expel a projectile at an amazingly fast speed. That projectile may be used to hunt, to shoot at various sporting targets, to maim, or to kill. To say a gun's sole purpose is to kill is to attempt to re-frame the discussion, without regard to accuracy.

I disagree with your assertion these were "common sense" proposals - or that they would have done a damned thing to curb any violence in this nation. Therefore, those bills deserved to fail.

Chopra honestly doesn't realize he's not the 21st senator, but the 41st.
His statement tells me he's much more interested in party than in issues. This is a shame, as I will NOT vote for any of the Republicans running for LG.
