Fairfax County Police have arrested two young men in connection with an armed robbery of a bicyclist late Monday night in the Engleside neighborhood, according to a news release from police.

The incident took place in a residential area, at Main Street and Gregory Drive, where a bicyclist, a 20-year old man, was riding when a car pulled up at about 11:30 p.m. Monday. The driver exited the vehicle, displayed a handgun and asked for cash, police reported. The passenger in the car remained in the car during the robbery, police said.

Police were called to the scene, spotted the vehicle and brought the suspects into custody, police said.

Jacob Gilbertson, 23, of Vernon View Drive in Fort Hunt, and Benjamin Yeannakis, 23, of Mosby Street in Del Ray, have both been charged with robbery and with the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to police.
