Woman Charged With Intentionally Burning House

The fire caused $60,000 in damages and five adults were displaced from their home.

An Alexandria woman is accused of intentionally burning a Mount Vernon house in May, resulting in $60,000 worth of damages. 

Fairfax County fire investigators on Wednesday charged Tynekia Rogers, 38, of Claremont Woods Drive, with burning personal property greater than $200 and intentionally burning a house. 

According to the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, Rogers allegedly started the fire in a bedroom of the home off Seaton Drive, while the occupants were outside grilling. The residents were alerted to the fire by the alarm. Five adults were displaced from their home.
