Obamacare for Business, Fairfax Studio Housing, Mount Vernon Programs and "Just Stories"

1. Health Care Law: What Small Businesses Need to Know — Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) is hosting an event designed for small business owners who want to learn more about navigating changes to health care law. The discussion, “Navigating the Affordable Care Act: Make Health Reform Work for Your Company,” takes place Thursday at Alexandria’s Landmark Mall in the community room, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

2. Residential Studio Zoning — Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday to discuss several issues, including whether to authorize a public hearing on a new special-use zoning designation for studio housing. If authorized, the public hearings will be held this fall. Complete agenda.

3. Hoecakes & Hospitality: Cooking with Martha WashingtonThis program at George Washington's Mount Vernon gives visitors a behind-the-scenes look at meal prep in the days of George an Martha Washington. The program ends on Aug. 11.

4. Just Stories — Sherwood Regional Library hosts an event for children ages 2-6 at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Children need to be accompanied by an adult.

5. Browne Academy Preschool Storytime — "Join our Preschool Director for storytime and crafts! This event is free, and all are welcome to attend (children ages 0-5). For more information please call: 703-960-3000."
